Miquel Martí Pierre is appointed as new CEO of Movento

The Moventia Board of Directors has unanimously agreed to appoint Miquel Martí Pierre as the new CEO of Movento, the division offering private mobility solutions from Moventia, a company engaged in the sale, after-sales services and rental of cars and industrial vehicles.

Until now, Miquel Martí Pierre has been the Head of Expansion and Investment Analysis at Moventia and General Manager at Moventis. He will now take over the role previously held by Miquel Martí Escursell, his father. Following a 44-year career as a top executive at Movento, the latter will now focus on his role as Chairman of Moventia.

By appointing Miquel Martí Pierre to this position, the benchmark mobility group is launching a process of generational succession and made him the first member of the fourth generation of this family to take on the leading role at one of its two divisions. Miquel Martí EscursellChairman of Moventia, said “the generational transition at any family business is an extremely important moment in the life of that company. In our case, we have followed our protocol and I’m convinced that Miquel will serve Moventia according to three essential values that form part of our DNA: commitment, professionalism and respect for the company that he has lived with since he was a child”.

In turn, Miquel Martí Pierre, the new CEO of the division, added that “it is an honour that the family and especially my father trust in me to lead this project. We live in a time of disruptive change in the automotive sector, with an uncertain future that will require us to take very fast decisions if we want to adapt to some as yet unknown new realities. I therefore accept this challenge with all my heart and commitment, and I hope to at least equal the extraordinary legacy left by my father at the company and in the sector”.

Miquel Martí Pierre has also been one of five members of the Moventia Board of Directors since 2022, alongside Miquel Martí Escursell (Executive Chairman), Josep Maria Martí (CEO of Moventia and Executive Vice-President of Moventis), Sílvia Martí (Vice-President of Corporate Affairs at Moventia) and Santi Colomer Martí (Managing Director of Movento).

Various actions by Movento in December

On 2 December, AutoPlaVic received its first New Range Rover at the Gurb dealership and held an exclusive event to celebrate with our customers. The new Range Rover offers outstandingly sophisticated design, refinement and powerful capabilities.

That same week, Après Sky was held on the ski slopes of Masella, an event organised by Stern Motor.

Those attending the event enjoyed a spectacular day of snow that concluded with Carles Perez and El Gran German from Radio FlaixBac entertaining guests at the Masella Möod Lounge.

Furthermore, Sarsa Audi had the pleasure of organising a convoy for some of its customers with 10 models from the brand’s RS range. This event took place during the week of 13-17 December for seven days of adrenaline and speed.

The convoy’s journey comprised a loop around El Vallès, including road, dual carriageway and motorway sections so drivers could try out all the various driving modes. Two stops were included along the way so drivers could switch cars and thereby test several different models from the brand. One of these stops included a visit to the Cava Rovellats winery with a breakfast in the heart of nature. Finally, upon returning to the dealership, various gifts were handed out by Sarsa to all those who took part.

Turning our attention to Auser, an event was held on 14 December at the dealership in Terrassa to which several customers were invited in order to hear their opinions about Auser and the services we offer, as well as about the Renault and Dacia brands themselves.

Our analysis and conclusions from this event will help us improve the customer experience at our dealerships.

Finally, the classic San Silvestre de Badalona – Grand Prix Hyundai Motorprim took place on Friday 31 December. More than 1,250 runners took part in this last race of the year across the categories of 5 and 10 kilometres. Besides a great festive day of sport, both participants and spectators could also enjoy the new electric Hyundai KONA and the new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on show at the Runner Fair. These vehicles also provided support during the race itself.

Akaimoto wins the Honda Garage Dream Contest

Our Movento Honda Akaimoto dealership is celebrating one year since it opened its doors in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona) as a commitment from Honda in the brand’s plan to expand in Spain. This first anniversary comes with some very special news: they won the III Honda Garage Dream Contest.

This is the Honda Iberia tuning competition, in which more than 20 official dealerships for the brand in Spain and Portugal took part. The prize is undoubtedly a source of great prestige for the dealership in its first year of business, not only internally but also among all motorcycle enthusiasts, as it clearly reflects its commitment to service excellence.

The team of professionals at this dealership work hard every day to make Akaimoto the benchmark business for all things motorcycle-related in the area and to offer a premium quality experience to their customers.

Sarsa Terrassa, venue for the Plenary Session of the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce

Sarsa Terrassa, the official dealership for Audi, Seat, Skoda, Cupra and Volkswagen located between Calle Cinca and Calle Jiloca was the venue recently chosen by the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services to hold its plenary session.

The event, which took place on the top floor of the dealership where the Audi Selection Plus range of second-hand vehicles can be found, was attended by members of the organisation’s plenary session, consisting of various executives and business leaders from the area of influence covered by this chamber of commerce, to analyse and debate several issues related to the current and future status of the business fabric in Terrassa.

The Managing Director of the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, Josep Prats, said “I would like to thank Enric Fauste, General Manager of Sarsa, for the mutual trust that has been built up together between the chamber of commerce and Sarsa, culminating in this event being held here today”.

In response, Enric Fauste, General Manager of Sarsa went on to add that “it is our pleasure that such an important organisation as the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce would choose our premises to hold one of its most important annual meetings”.

Ramon Talamàs, President of the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, expressed his gratitude for the service provided by Sarsa Terrassa to the organisation and went on to add that, “thanks to this system of meetings held away from our own premises, we can get closer to the reality and circumstances of local businesses, such as the Moventia Group in this case. We have clearly seen its strong capacity and forward-looking vision of the automotive sector and mobility”.

Finally, Miquel Martí, Chairman of Moventia, said “we are very happy to be here today and to have this chance to take part in an event by the chamber of commerce that gathers such a great deal of the business fabric of Terrassa in one place, an essential way to promote the city’s economy”.

Moventia at the Tomorrow Mobility World Congress

Tomorrow.Mobility is a global event for promoting the future of mobility. As part of the Smart City Expo World Congress that began yesterday in Barcelona, this new event – jointly organised by Fira de Barcelona and EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a body of the European Union – was unveiled to society. The event is also supported by major institutions and companies in the mobility sector, including Moventia. Tomorrow.Mobility seeks to become a global benchmark in mobility and to grow beyond an isolated event as it will have an online knowledge platform that remains active throughout the year and an innovation hub for gathering the top players in the industry. Miquel Martí Escursell, Chairman of Moventia, has formed part of the Advisory Board that manages this debate and knowledge platform about the future of mobility since it was first set up and attended the event opening yesterday.

The Smart City Expo World Congress is a globally leading event on smart cities. Its partners include EIT Urban Mobility, the largest European initiative for transforming urban mobility created by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. It is also receiving initial support from over 100 companies and entities, including the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, United Nations, Microsoft, Mastercard, ADP (Airports of Paris), the International Association of Ports, the Port of Barcelona, Moventia, RACC and Social Car.

Tomorrow.Mobility is an evolution of the Smart Mobility Congress, the event focused on smart intercity and urban mobility that has been taking place alongside the Smart City Expo World Congress since 2016. Tomorrow.Mobility will tackle such issues as micro mobility (electric scooters, bicycles), public transport, mobility service providers (car sharing, aero taxis), the automotive industry (electric, connected and autonomous cars), last-mile logistics (e-commerce deliveries, delivery drones), smart infrastructures (fleet management, geopositioning and payment systems), the energy transition and efficiency, and digitalisation. It exists in response to the questions surrounding what mobility should be like in cities of the future with smart and sustainable transport systems, and builds an innovation network for urban mobility at a global level capable of encouraging innovation and its transformation towards a more sustainable form of mobility.

The event will take place at the Gran Via venue in Barcelona from 16 to 18 November
