Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

Responsibilities and commitments > Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

Moventia is committed to fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

We promote initiatives that align with targets set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda, bringing added value to our stakeholders along the way.

By integrating some of the SDGs into daily operations at our company, we steer our efforts towards building a better, more sustainable future.

Quality education

Our company has set a goal to maintain its support for training and professional development in young people by taking part in initiatives aimed at helping them to join the labour market and seeking to ensure we offer inclusive, equal and quality technical and professional training. This is reflected by our involvement in training sessions, the organisation of specific courses and the dual training based on internship agreements with students, among other things.

Gender equality

Gender equality (SDG 5) is another of the Sustainable Development Goals we integrate into our business by maintaining our firm commitment to reducing inequalities, making an effort to eradicate all forms of discrimination against women and ensuring that women have the same opportunities as men in all walks of life, especially in the workplace. To that end, we train our employees on awareness and equal opportunities, and we are in the process of obtaining SGI 20.10 Equal Opportunities Management System certification for all our companies.

Decent work and economic growth

Moventia supports this SDG through its intention to foster creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship as the main values for increasing productivity and promoting a decent, safe, healthy and inclusive working environment. To achieve these objectives, our company promotes labour market inclusion for people with functional diversity and we help make it easier for SMEs, self-employed professionals and entrepreneurs in the region to buy vehicles in order to foster business growth. Furthermore, we take on new professionals via protocols or courses and we prevent risk situations in the workplace.

Sustainable cities and communities

This goal is closely tied to our own values and reflected in our contribution to the sustainable development of those urban areas and communities where we operate. We join forces to offer comprehensive responses that are resilient to the risks stemming from climate change by encouraging road safety, highlighting air quality, noise and emissions issues, and always placing a special focus on the needs of the most underprivileged. Evidence of this can be found in the pilot scheme we organised involving on-demand bus stops for women travelling alone or in a group, as well as our partnership with foundations that support these goals.

Responsible consumption and production

Moventia seeks to achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources. We aim to substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse policies. To that end, we encourage the companies that form part of our group to adopt sustainable practices that foster sustainability. In this regard, we install gas refuelling stations to fill up our CNG-powered buses, we open CNG refuelling stations to the public and we have a 100% sustainable energy use certificate.

Climate action

Our intention to strengthen resilience and adaptability to climate-related risks, as well as to incorporate measures on climate change in our company policies, is how we support SDG 13 on Climate Action. In this regard, our company has renewed its fleets with sustainable vehicle models (hybrid, electric and compressed gas), we communicate the advantages of sustainable mobility both within the company and beyond, we are committed to the sale of fully electric vehicles via our private mobility division and we are expanding the scope of bike sharing services throughout Europe.

Partnerships for the goals

Just as we promote the latest Sustainable Development Goal set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, our company believes it is essential to encourage and promote the creation of effective alliances in the public sector, public-private sector and in civil society, harnessing the experience and resource gathering strategies of those partnerships. We also believe it is important to take advantage of existing initiatives and come up with indicators capable of measuring the progress being made in terms of sustainable development, which can complement other indicators that have been used to measure gross domestic product, and to support training on statistics in developing countries.

In this regard, we build synergies with benchmark cultural entities and support actions that bring quality culture to the regions where we operate, building and renewing partnerships with initiatives linked to those regions, opening our doors to schoolchildren and for professional training activities, and lending our support to various sports initiatives and entities.
