Moventis Illes promotes job placement in Mallorca with subsidies for students who take the initial CAP for travellers

 

Moventis Illes, concessionaire of interurban public transport of the TIB network in Mallorca, has signed a collaboration agreement with driving schools in the territory where its service operates. The agreement is valid for one year and will be automatically renewed to add more years of commitment to Mallorcan society.

This new project promoted by the company aims to promote job placement. The division based in Mallorca of the Moventia group will grant a subsidy for students of the CAP course (Professional Aptitude Course) who are interested in accessing job offers from the transport operator.

During the course, the staff of the Moventis team will publicize the company and present the contract offer to the students. The opportunity will have a prior selection process through individual interviews, followed by a driving test, which will serve to assess the aptitudes of each candidate for the position, and, finally, the notification of the incorporation to the company to the candidates who have been selected.

Obtaining the grant will be delivered gradually during the first professional stage at Moventis Illes.

Josep Maria Martí receives ‘Honour Award’ from Etalentum

The CEO of Moventis and Executive Vice-President of MoventiaJosep Maria Martí, was given the Honour Award for his personal career at the Etalentum Awards on Tuesday. This is the first time that Etalentum, a leading Spanish staff recruitment company, has organised these awards and they coincide with the celebrations surrounding the centenary of Moventia.

Josep Maria Martí was chosen by a committee of experts made up by representatives from prestigious public-private entities in the region, such as Sabadell City Council, the Chamber of Commerce in the municipality, the Banc de Sabadell, the School of Economics and Business at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Etalentum. After studying the profiles and careers of numerous executives from the region, the panel of judges from various backgrounds unanimously decided to recognise Josep Maria Martí for his career and the success he has achieved over more than 35 years of professional life.

In turn, Josep Maria Martí expressed gratitude upon receiving this important recognition by saying “I would like to express my thanks for this magnificent award, which I receive on behalf of the entire Moventia team, the family and the teachers we have had over the years, whose lessons have taught me to trust in people, let them work, train them in the necessary skills and treat them with empathy and respect. I would also like to stress that I am particularly pleased to receive this award at the start of a year in which we are celebrating the centenary of a company set up by my grandfather in 1923”.

The Etalentum Awards are local awards and have begun their history by recognising companies based in Sabadell and surrounding towns. The main goal for this project is to highlight the value of people-centric purposes at local companies based on such diverse factors as the promotion of internal and external talent, the level of commitment to employees, the creation of opportunities for training and professional development, the application of work-life balance, integration and healthcare policies, and best practice in internal communication and transparency.

The award ceremony took place at the Sabadell Chamber of Commerce and was also attended by the Mayor of SabadellMs. Marta Farrés, as well as other prestigious representatives from the business world in El Vallès Occidental. Future editions will take place in other Spanish towns.

 

A benchmark for 100 years

Besides the award given to Josep Maria Martí, it should also be noted that Moventia, which is celebrating 100 years in 2023, was one of six companies nominated for the Etalentum Award in the category of ‘companies with over 100 employees’, all of which were selected by the quorum of experts for their sound projects to promote and develop human capital.

In statements from the co-founders of EtalentumJaume Alemany and David Boixader, these awards were created to “recognise the work undertaken by many companies to manage their human capital, to ensure employee motivation, to identify talent and foster it, and to facilitate work-life balance”, among other issues of a fundamental nature to business success.

 

Moventia and Sant Cugat Local Council strengthen ties

On Tuesday, 10 January, Moventia received an institutional visit from the Mayor of Sant Cugat, Mireia Ingla, to its premises. The local council mayor was accompanied on her visit to the mobility company by the Deputy Mayor for the Presidency, Urban Services, Mobility and Safety, Pere Soler; the Deputy Mayor for Economic Promotion, Elena Vila; the Head of the Mayor’s Office, Víctor Punes; the Head of Communication for the Mayor’s Office, Mikel Vilalta; and the Head of the Economic Promotion Department, Anna Álvarez.

The local council delegation was received by the Chairman of Moventia, Miquel Martí Escursell; the CEO of Moventia and Executive Vice-President of Moventis, Josep Maria Martí; the Corporate Vice-President for Internal and Institutional Communication of Moventia, Sílvia Martí; the Manager of Moventis SARBUS, Júlia Gilavert; the Head of Operations at Moventis, Enric Fauste; the Assistant Manager, Aram Vidal and the Head of Marketing at Moventia, Sandra Llunell.

After a tour of the company premises, the mayor and her team showed interest in Moventia’s operations control centre. The senior management team from the company explained how the technology is responsible for comprehensively tracking the buses that operate on a network spanning 270 kilometres and providing a service to 97,000 inhabitants of the local municipality.

 

After visiting the company and its various departments, the senior management team then told the local council representatives about the company’s future intentions. They placed special focus on the internationalisation strategy, quality and commitment to the team, innovation and sustainability. They also provided in-depth information on the services provided by the company’s two divisions: Moventis and Movento.

The visit represented another step along a shared path aimed at offering the best possible service to the residents of Sant Cugat.

 

Moventis Sarfa, awarded as Regular Transport Company of the Year

Moventis Sarfa has received the Company of the Year award, in the Regular Transport category, from the prestigious Autobuses y Autocares magazine.

The reference publication in passenger transport presented the award at the XXXI edition of the Las Empresas del Año awards, held on December 20 at the IFEMA pavilions in Madrid. Juan Giménez, CEO of Moventis Regular, was in charge of collecting the recognition on behalf of the company belonging to the Moventia group.

During the award ceremony, Autobuses y Autocares also presented a special issue of the magazine dedicated to the winning companies. The publication highlighted the merits and initiatives implemented by the awarded operators.

The Las Empresas del Año awards have been given since 1992 and represent an ovation for the work carried out by different companies at the state level dedicated to passenger transport in different categories: road, discretionary and urban.

Moventis joins FEMVallès

Moventis recently joined the FEMVallès association, a group of financial entities, professional trade unions and social entities that seeks to boost the economy and implement policies aimed at overcoming the condition of metropolitan periphery.
Following this recent move, a delegation from Moventia that included Miquel Martí Pierre (General Manager of Moventis Discretionary and Moventis representative within the association) received a visit by representatives from FEMVallès at the Moventia premises in Sant Cugat del Vallès on 11 May. The visit was used to present the work carried out by FEMVallès over the last 10 years and to jointly discuss infrastructure and mobility improvement proposals in the area.

On 4 May, Moventia once again took part in these conferences organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Sabadell. On this occasion, they focused on the topic of employee absenteeism; one of the problems currently being faced by companies in terms of human resources management.

 

Our Corporate Director for Human Resources, Agustí López, attended the event forming part of the Series of Economic Affairs Debates of the Productive Economy Council (CEPA), made up by CIESC, PIMEC Vallés Occidental and the Chamber of Commerce. His talk focused on the importance of good management in employee absenteeism.

Absenteeism rates have been raised to unprecedented levels by COVID-19. Absenteeism also leads to reduced productivity, increased costs and can impact the working environment.

 

Pedro Pablo Sanz, Managing Director of the Association of Occupational Accident Mutual Insurance Companies (AMAT), also took part in the event.

Moventia sponsors II Itinera Parlem Festival

Moventia is pleased to be a sponsor of the II Itinera Parlem Festival this year, a project created by the Catalan Association of Microtowns and Aktive. The project was launched in 2021 to raise the profile of Microtowns and their attractive features. This festival consisted of quality music in micro format.

Microtowns are municipalities with fewer than 500 inhabitants in Catalonia. There are a total of 337, of which more than 200 are members of the Catalan Association of Microtowns.

Itinera seeks two objectives: to raise the profile of the reality for Microtowns in Catalonia and to bring quality culture to iconic spaces in these towns. The festival includes musicians from the genres of Jazz, Blues, Gospel and Soul, among others, and also hosts important benchmark performers from the Catalan music scene, as well as collaborations with conservatoires and music schools in Catalonia, such as Liceu and Esmuc.

This open and inclusive project is taking place for the second time in 2022. It began on 1 May and will conclude on 30 October after more than 120 concerts.

Following its first edition in 2021, the Itinera Festival was given an Impulsa Award by the Catalunya Cultura Foundation. Its incredible work was recognised by this project for de-ruralisation through culture and, more specifically music, in turn demonstrating that culture fosters social transformation.

Moventia shares this vision and understands culture as a tool for conveying values that encourages critical thought and becomes an instrument for social cohesion and development in a more active society. That is why, Moventia promotes and supports actions and projects that seek to bring quality culture from this region to everyone.

Moventis, mobility partner of the TRAM Barcelona Open for second consecutive year

Silvia Martí, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs at Moventia, attended an event earlier today to present the V TRAM Barcelona Open, the International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament that Moventis supports as mobility partner. The event took place at the Barcelona Royal Tennis Club under the slogan of “El nostre únic límit el marca la pista” (“The court sets our only limit”).

The TRAM Barcelona Open has consolidated its position as a benchmark tournament on the international Uniqlo Wheelchair Tennis Tour and some outstanding players have already registered to take part this year. Confirmation from the numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the world (both men and women) positions this event as the best ITF2 category tournament by the International Tennis Federation and, once again, stands as the first tournament on the clay tour before Roland Garros. Having made these achievements, the tournament is ready to make the leap to the highest international category (ITF1) next year.
