Moventis showcases solutions at UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Barcelona
13 de June de 2023
Moventis wants all its vehicles to be “zero-emissions” by 2035. The company has invested 120 million euros since 2020 alone to achieve that goal.

Moventis attended this year’s UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Barcelona from 4 to 7 June. As a key mobility player, Moventis was in Barcelona to showcase its innovative transport solutions and to support progress by sustainable public transport in general.

The company actively took part in several round table discussions, such as a session to discuss the role to be played by end users in transport solutions. Sílvia Martí, Vice-President of Moventia, spoke about the changing profile of end users and highlighted the impact from new technologies on their expectations, as well as on the services being provided. However, she stressed that technology should only add to and enhance the human experience, not replace it. “Technology is complementary to the work done by people, who – in the case of Moventis – represent our main added value and the reason why passengers choose us”, she said.

Francesc Buyolo, Head of Infrastructures at Moventia, spoke at another session to describe what Moventis is doing in terms of infrastructures, while Júlia Farré, Head of Business Development at Moventis, offered an overview of all current and future projects at the company.

Finally, Júlia Gilavert, General Manager of Moventis in El Maresme and El Vallès, spoke about public sector financing in times of economic uncertainty.

The UITP Global Public Transport Summit is an international meeting that gathers industry experts, operators and stakeholders from all over the world. With more than 15,000 international attendees and 300 speakers, the summit offered an ideal platform for Moventis to highlight its contributions to the sector.
