Moventia receives Pays de Montbéliard

On October 24, representatives of the Moventia Council received at the corporate offices of Moventia in Sant Cugat del Vallés a delegation from the government of the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomeration made up of Mr. Charles Demouge, President, and Mrs. Aline Pellet, General Director of Services.

During the visit, the guests were able to get to know first-hand the human team of the Moventia corporate departments that actively participate in the proper day-to-day running of the Moventis Pays de Montbéliard operation, supporting the local human team. Likewise, they were able to see how the control center of the exploitation in the province of Barcelona works and were able to share impressions with the management team that was accompanying them throughout their visit.

Moventia began its business career in France with the urban, interurban and school transport service for the Pays de Montbéliard agglomeration in 2017, in the French county of north-eastern France, bordering Switzerland, where 72 municipalities are served. The Moventis – Pays de Montbéliard service is developed thanks to the daily work of 215 professionals, 65 of its own urban buses and 50 subcontractors.

The T-mobilitat is already in operation on the urban buses of Sant Sadurní, Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú

The T-mobilitat, the new system for traveling to the public transport network in the Barcelona area, already integrates the urban bus service lines in the Garraf and Alt Penedès regions. This is a new step in the incorporation of buses from the entire Integrated Fare System in the Barcelona area, which will continue in the coming weeks.

This week’s integration incorporates new urban bus lines from outside the metropolitan area operated by TCC, from the Moventis group, specifically in the municipalities of Sant Sadurní, Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú.

The expansion of the T-mobilitat outside the Barcelona metropolitan area has been progressive since last summer. Currently, the new system makes it possible to travel throughout the Barcelona ATM railway network, the entire bus network of the Barcelona metropolitan area and increasingly on more intercity and urban bus services of the crowns 2, 3, 4 , 5 and 6. Transport tickets purchased with the T-mobilitat system also enjoy the same discount as tickets from the magnetic system. In this sense, the tickets of all the zones of the T-usual (also FM/FN), T-casual and T-joven (also FM/FN) can be purchased with the corresponding rate reduction until December 31, 2022 It should be remembered that all integrated transport tickets will be valid until January 15, 2023. Intelligent mobility at the Polígons d’Activitat Econòmica

 

On last Friday, October 28, Moventia participated as a speaker at Hub b30’s Innovation Brunch. It was in the framework of the conference of the Mobilitat intel·ligent als Polígons de l’Activitat Econòmica (PAE), organized by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Unió de Polígons Industrials de Catalunya (UPIC).

Elena Aguarta, Director of Innovation Services for Mobility and Regulatory Affairs of Moventia, representing the company expert in sustainable mobility, spoke about the new models of intelligent mobility that are adapted today to industrial polygons. The talk, which had as its objective the search for a mobility model adapted to the technological revolution, its organizational changes and the climate emergency within the polygons, also had the participation of Rosa Maria Sebastian Perez, Vice-Rector of Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship of the UAB; Silvia Solanellas, Moderator of the session and director of the Unió de Polígons Industrials de Catalunya (UPIC); Alejandro Valdovinos, Business Unit Director of Circontrol; Gerard Martret, CEO of Shotl and Vicente Atienza, Innovation Project Manager at the Barcelona Cambra de Comerç.

During the presentation, and with the intention of achieving a new business organization, with a strong commitment to digitization, the Moventia spokeswoman gave as an example some of the services that the company carries out in the Can Sant Joan Polygon, in Sant Cugat del Vallès. He highlighted the city bus and the shuttle bus, which transports passengers from the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya station to the industrial area. And a shared coach on demand.

The Innovation Brunch came to the conclusion of the multiple benefits of having a mobility plan for the Polygon itself coordinated with that of the companies. The importance of it being appropriate and adapted to the existing needs of the companies and their workers was emphasized, both in the field of labor conciliation, as well as that of security in itinere and that of optimization and increase in production in labor activity.

Reference was also made to the economic savings and the reduction in atmospheric and acoustic pollution that results from the reduction in traffic intensity thanks to the public transport service and the optimization of energy consumption in the companies of the polygons.

Josep Maria Martí takes part in Sant Cugat 2030: City of the future

On Friday, 27 May, Josep Maria Martí (Deputy Chairman of Moventia and CEO of Moventis) took part in an event entitled “Sant Cugat 2030: City of the future”. The event sought to offer a response to the various demographic growth, sustainability and economic challenges faced by the city over the coming eight years.

Held in the Sala Clavé hall at “La Unió Santcugatenca”three talks were given by experts to open a debate aimed at understanding the future of this city. The ultimate goal for the event was to enter a dialogue with experts and politicians on the status of the city and the challenges it faces in the near future.

The day focused on the three round table discussions. The first was based on “A city for living in”, from which the main conclusion was that “diversity is what attracts people to cities”.

The second dialogue session of the day began after a breakfast that provided networking opportunities. “Sustainable City” offered a common outlook on everything that needs to be considered for building a more sustainable city ecosystem, calling on organisations to adopt a more active role. Josep Maria Martí took part in this session.

Various issues were addressed during the debate, such as adapting the city to all the challenges and objectives stemming from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, equality, responsible consumption and production, and climate action.

The contribution from Josep Maria Martí highlighted the importance of harnessing EU funds in order to make progress towards a greener economy and society, called for incentives to encourage society and companies to commit to electric vehicles because 15 million journeys are made within the metropolitan area alone (300,000 of those in Sant Cugat) and defended nuclear power as a source of energy, as well as the importance of building wind farms.

The final conclusion from the second round table discussion was that Sant Cugat will only be viable if progress can be made towards a sustainable ecosystem, one that is conducive to a change of mentality that encompasses and involves education, society, companies and public authorities.

The third and final debate, which concluded the event, discussed another of the key issues for current affairs in the city: being an economic magnet. This dialogue was centred around how the city should adapt itself in order to remain attractive to large companies, as well as the challenges faced by the city in terms of business by small- and medium-sized enterprises.

CityBike Global becomes Inurba Mobility and arrives in Stockholm

CityBike Global, the operator of public individual mobility services funded by Moventia and in which Sherpa Capital currently holds a stake, recently presented its new rebranding process at an event in Barcelona. Following this process, the company will now operate in all the markets where it does business worldwide under the name of Inurba Mobility.

Seven years after the brand was created, this new name reflects the transformation undergone by the company and is also enshrined in a new visual identity that connects with cities, sustainability and growth.

While upholding these values, the company has also maintained a clear international focus. Sherpa Capital became a shareholder in 2020 to boost growth and the results have been highly effective. The company has doubled its sales turnover since it began operating in new international markets over the last two years.

The company announced that, for 2023, it plans to increase billing by 60% on the consolidated growth already seen in 2022 thanks to new projects that have already been signed this year and expects to post a turnover of close to 25 million euros.

This change of branding is a strategic move aimed at further strengthening the project and reflecting the company’s values and mission through the changes, which include a drive to offer services to cities and their inhabitants that can improve quality of life by providing new sustainable and efficient mobility options.

In this regard, a public electric bicycle service was launched in the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in partnership with Inurba Mobility in May. Moventis joins FEMVallès

Moventis recently joined the FEMVallès association, a group of financial entities, professional trade unions and social entities that seeks to boost the economy and implement policies aimed at overcoming the condition of metropolitan periphery.
Following this recent move, a delegation from Moventia that included Miquel Martí Pierre (General Manager of Moventis Discretionary and Moventis representative within the association) received a visit by representatives from FEMVallès at the Moventia premises in Sant Cugat del Vallès on 11 May. The visit was used to present the work carried out by FEMVallès over the last 10 years and to jointly discuss infrastructure and mobility improvement proposals in the area.

Moventia successfully concludes bus operations in Mecca for Ramadan season

In February, Moventia launched its urban transport service in Mecca with a shuttle line between Masjid al-Haram (the Great Mosque of Mecca) and Al Haramain Station (the high-speed train station).

In April, the company faced its greatest trial by fire on this project because Ramadan fell in that month this year, a period during which a vast number of pilgrims travel to Mecca (12 million this year). For this Stage of the project (Stage 1), Moventia operated 120 buses on up to four lines carrying up to 50,000 passengers per day in recent days. The shuttle between Masjid al-Haram and Al Haramain Station (Stage 0) was joined by the corridors leaving Masjid al-Haram: the western corridor, the south-eastern corridor and the northern corridor.

Jordi Castells, Head of Operations at Moventis and Manager of Moventis for Saudi Arabia, said he was “very pleased to have been able to successfully operate this service during the month of Ramadan. This was one of the main trials by fire for us and demonstrates that we are on the right path to completing our roll-out of this operation with 400 buses. It is important to stress that Moventia is the first international operator to launch an urban transport service in Saudi Arabia”.

Agustí López at the Series of Economic Affairs Debates

 

On 4 May, Moventia once again took part in these conferences organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Sabadell. On this occasion, they focused on the topic of employee absenteeism; one of the problems currently being faced by companies in terms of human resources management.

 

Our Corporate Director for Human Resources, Agustí López, attended the event forming part of the Series of Economic Affairs Debates of the Productive Economy Council (CEPA), made up by CIESC, PIMEC Vallés Occidental and the Chamber of Commerce. His talk focused on the importance of good management in employee absenteeism.

Absenteeism rates have been raised to unprecedented levels by COVID-19. Absenteeism also leads to reduced productivity, increased costs and can impact the working environment.

 

Pedro Pablo Sanz, Managing Director of the Association of Occupational Accident Mutual Insurance Companies (AMAT), also took part in the event.

Moventis, mobility partner of the TRAM Barcelona Open for second consecutive year

Silvia Martí, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs at Moventia, attended an event earlier today to present the V TRAM Barcelona Open, the International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament that Moventis supports as mobility partner. The event took place at the Barcelona Royal Tennis Club under the slogan of “El nostre únic límit el marca la pista” (“The court sets our only limit”).

The TRAM Barcelona Open has consolidated its position as a benchmark tournament on the international Uniqlo Wheelchair Tennis Tour and some outstanding players have already registered to take part this year. Confirmation from the numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the world (both men and women) positions this event as the best ITF2 category tournament by the International Tennis Federation and, once again, stands as the first tournament on the clay tour before Roland Garros. Having made these achievements, the tournament is ready to make the leap to the highest international category (ITF1) next year.

In line with the commitment from Moventia, Moventis continues to play its part and expresses solidarity with social and sports projects in order to maintain our support for the elimination of physical barriers that restrict mobility for persons with disabilities.

Moventis Sarfa recognised at Girona Tourism Awards

The award ceremony for the Girona Tourism Awards organised by the Costa Brava-Girona Tourist Board took place yesterday, Thursday 7 April, at the Church of Sant Pere in Ripoll. These annual awards seek to strengthen internal relations within the tourism sector, recognise the expertise of professionals and business leaders, and stimulate competitiveness from the tourism sector on the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees.

 

Moventis Sarfa received the “Xiquet Sabater Award for business projects”, which recognises those public or private institutions, entities or businesses that design, operate or consolidate projects or proposals that clearly contribute to enriching the attractiveness of the Costa Brava and/or Girona Pyrenees brands and stand out for their activity in support of developing tourism in the various parts of Girona.

 

The event, at which a video commemorating 100 years of the company was shown, was attended by the following on behalf of Moventis Sarfa: Josep Maria Martí, Vice-President and CEO of Moventia. Executive Vice-President of MOVENTIS; Juan Giménez, General Manager of Moventis; Enric Gimeno Aragonés, Manager of Moventis SARFA: Ana Gil, Head of Marketing at MOVENTIS, and a number of employees from Moventis SARFA.
