9 countries in two years

After just 2 years on the market, Shotl is now fully operational in Germany, Spain, France, Finland, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Portugal, and the United States.

Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) is an emerging type of flexible transportation in which vehicles are able to adjust their route in real-time and in response to demand; instead of following a fixed route or predetermined timetable. In order to run smoothly, and to best serve every passenger effectively, a fleet of vehicles should be able to pick-up and drop-off passengers in locations that are as close as possible to their original and final destination, Shotl technology is making this possible.

Since March 2017, Shotl’s platform has been revolutionizing DRT, as it is able to match multiple passengers headed in the same direction with an available vehicle. This innovative software empowers transport operators and municipalities, helping them to make better use of their transportation assets along low-ridership routes; by bolstering services with on-demand buses.

The implementation of Shotl technology has helped to provide a better overall supply of public transportation services in areas with very low demand; localities where regular bus services are not affordable, such as rural and suburban neighborhoods. Right now, pilot schemes in both Valencia (Spain) and Lisbon (Portugal) are helping to bring improved service and accessibility to passengers with physical disabilities. The function of the transportation authorities in these cases is to dispense a social service, as opposed to developing a strictly business-oriented solution.

In the space of just two years, the Shotl platform has been adopted in 9 different countries and is rapidly becoming an essential tool for:
  • Public transportation companies that are interested in improving operations.
  • City planners who are willing to offer innovative transport initiatives to their citizens.
  • Taxi dispatchers seeking new shared business models.
  • Business parks and college campuses providing internal transport for employees and students.
The Shotl team is looking to partner with transport operators and city authorities all over the world. We can help in delivering innovative solutions that make sustainable mobility a reality. By providing all the necessary technology, knowledge, and technical assistance we are able to make transportation services more flexible, accessible, energy-efficient and cost-effective.

If you’re interested in finding out more about the Shotl on-demand bus platform or if you want to arrange a meeting with one of our associates, please contact us at hello@shotl.com.

At Shotl we are proud of our mission and we’re firmly focused on creating a new type of mobility that’s able to free our cities from cars. Because sharing is better than owning, let’s build safer and healthier streets.

Moventia supporting research on Alzheimer’s Disease

Faithful to its values and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, Moventia actively participates and collaborates with over 50 non-profit organisations. On this occasion, it is pleased to announce its membership of the Patronage Council of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. Moventia has made a contribution that will be donated in full to the Clinical Research on the Prevention of Dementia Unit, specifically the Alpha Study.

At a recent visit by Miquel and Sílvia Martí, Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Directors, to the innovative installations owned by the foundation, its Director, Jordi Camino, wished to share and highlight the objectives and details of the research being conducted by the Alpha Study:

“We know that the damage caused to the brain by Alzheimer’s Disease may have silently begun up to 20 years before the first symptoms appear. We need to anticipate this, study what happens to the brain years before Alzheimer’s Disease develops. Our goal is to take action before it is too late and the damage is already irreversible”.

For this reason, Moventia is pleased and proud to be taking part in such a socially important initiative at a global level, in which the figures speak for themselves:

– 2,734 volunteer children of people with Alzheimer’s Disease
– 50 professionals
– 9,891 visit hours
– 10,892 samples to the Biobank
– 78,963 cognitive tests
– 421 magnetic resonance scans

We remain committed to research and its success for contributing to a better society!

Moventia seals agreements with cultural organisations

Moventia, following their collaborative strategy as framed in their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, has sealed different agreements with important cultural organisations in our country as: Liceu, Fundació Catalunya Cultura and Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. These agreements mean a long-term collaboration in terms of economic contribution such as services which allow each organisation to accomplish the objective of preserving and promoting the culture, as much as from our country as from the other countries.

We hope and wish these agreements to be fruitful so they can carry the name of Moventia to further levels and environments from our activities that we want to have closer every time.
