Moventis has taken another step towards consolidating its position in Saudi Arabia by opening the new central headquarters for ‘Northwest Bus’, the consortium made up by the company and a Saudi partner that manages the Intercity service in the region. Covering 60 cities in the north-west of the country, including Jeddah, Mecca, Medina and the capital Riyadh, this service has become an essential cornerstone for connectivity in the kingdom.
The opening ceremony took place in the last week of August at the Al-Haramain station in Jeddah and was attended by important representatives from the Transport General Authority (TGA). During the event, Jordi Castells (Managing Director of Moventis and head of operations in Saudi Arabia) and other representatives from the consortium told the TGA officials about the efficiency and quality of service offered by Northwest Bus.
One highlight of the day was the celebration of a particularly historic milestone: passenger number one million in less than a year since Intercity began operating. The lucky passenger received a commemorative cheque symbolising the company’s commitment to excellence in service and customer satisfaction.
This achievement did not go unnoticed by the TGA, which publicly recognised the success of Northwest Bus via its official account on X: “For its effort to provide a comfortable and reliable travel experience between cities in the Kingdom, we congratulate Northwest Bus on its exceptional achievement in carrying one million passengers in under a year, clearly reflecting the quality of service and commitment to offering an outstanding travel experience”.
This event marks a new chapter for the history of Moventis in Saudi Arabia, consolidating its position as leader in the region’s intercity transport sector. With its eyes firmly fixed on the future, the company remains fully committed to raising service standards and maintaining its safe and efficient links between cities and people.
