Moventia continues to improve accessibility to public transport through digital solutions
25 September 2024
Moventia is promoting accessibility to public transport in Pamplona through the use of NaviLens codes for the visually-impaired.

Moventia continues to work day after day to improve access for people to public transport through the use of technology solutions. In this case, via Moventis TCC Pamplona and in partnership with the Mancomunidad de la Comarca de Pamplona authority, an important initiative has been launched to guarantee more inclusive and accessible transport for all users of these services in Navarre.

NaviLens

The installation of NaviLens codes at bus stops used by the Regional Urban Transport (TUC) network within the metropolitan area of Pamplona is one of the most recent innovations undertaken by the urban transport service of Pamplona and clearly reflects the firm commitment from Moventia and its various business divisions to universal accessibility. This solution is mainly designed to improve the experience for the visually-impaired and is a fine example of how technology can positively transform urban mobility.

NaviLens codes, which enable the visually-impaired to get around more easily and access important information about the bus service via a mobile app, are more advanced than conventional QR codes. Because they can be detected from longer distances and used more easily, they represent an essential tool for the independence of these users. This project stems from a partnership with the Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities of Navarre (CERMIN), guaranteeing that these technology solutions are fully suited to real needs.

This is the second project by Moventis involving NaviLens, which has been using these QR codes elsewhere since January.

Innovation to serve the community

Moventia believes that innovation is a tool for improving its mobility services and thereby improving quality of life for users. By incorporating these NaviLens codes, as well as a free Wi-Fi service that was launched in Pamplona in September, the service is not only being modernised but user connectivity is also being enhanced. In turn, this is helping to ensure that their transport experience is more comfortable and productive. Furthermore, these initiatives encourage the use of public transport and strengthen the group’s commitment to sustainable, innovative and efficient mobility.
