Moventia’s Family Council and Board of Directors have appointed Josep Maria Martí Escursell as the new President of the group, succeeding his brother Miquel Martí Escursell, who steps down after 18 years at the helm and nearly five decades with the company.

A third-generation member of the Martí family and a valued member of Moventia’s Board of Directors, Josep Maria brings over 35 years of industry experience. After earning a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and an Executive Management qualification from the University of Navarra’s IESE Business School in Barcelona, he joined the family business in 1987. Over the years, he held several leadership positions, currently serving as Vice President of the group and CEO of Moventis, Moventia’s collective mobility division.

The Board of Directors commends Josep Maria’s leadership skills, expertise and forward-thinking vision, all of which will continue to drive Moventia towards new milestones, while preserving the family legacy.

The Board also expressed deep gratitude for “exceptional contributions Miquel has made during his presidency. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing Moventia as a global leader in the mobility sector, particularly through Moventis and Movento. His dedication, hard work and passion have been the cornerstones of the company’s remarkable success”.

Although stepping down as president, Miquel will remain closely connected to Moventia as Honorary President and continue to play a prominent role in the mobility sector and Catalonia’s economic landscape.
