BlaBlaCar and Moventis Sarfa have renewed their agreement to operate bus routes between Barcelona and various cities in France, destinations they were already serving before the pandemic and whose routes had to be suspended due to the health emergency. This partnership will also allow these routes to be extended to new French cities for the summer.

Under this partnership, BlaBlaCar buses resumed operation today on the lines between Barcelona and Paris, Marseille, Montpellier, Nîmes, Lyon, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Carcassonne and Perpignan. As from July, these routes will be joined by new lines between Barcelona and such cities as Nice, Orléans, Limoges and Châteauroux.

The BlaBlaCar buses, known until now as BlaBlaBus, mainly cover travel between major cities. In the various countries where they operate, BlaBlaCar buses have different local partners providing support for development of their business by harnessing local infrastructure. Those partners include Sarfa, the Catalan transport company that joined Moventis 21 years ago, one of the leading transport groups in Catalonia.

For Florent Bannwarth, Operations Director of BlaBlaCar in Spain and Portugal, this agreement represents “another step towards the multi-modality that will enable us to better adapt to the needs of our users. We want to continue supporting ourselves on technology in order to streamline and increase the efficiency of journeys by road on both sides of the border and to connect both large cities, with the help of BlaBlaCar buses, and small towns, based on car sharing”.

The agreement with Moventis Sarfa resumes and expands the cross-border lines from Barcelona and is a key partner for meeting the high demand for connections to France and thereby complementing the service offered by the BlaBlaCar car sharing routes.
