Moventia reaffirmed its commitment to attracting and developing talent in the industrial sector during the fourth edition of the ‘Fem Talent – Vallès Industrial’ forum at the Centre Tecnològic Leitat in Terrassa. Nacho Cabeza, HR Recruitment Manager at Moventia, represented the company at a round table discussion that focused on business success stories related to attracting and retaining talent.

Nacho Cabeza first underlined the major role played by the entire human team at Moventia as the main contributor to the company’s success, a key factor in its growth and a throughline in its more than 100 years of history.

Nacho then highlighted several key initiatives that Moventia has chosen to implement. These include the central role played by Dual Training and the partnerships with automotive, electromechanics and bodywork schools to incentivise technical careers in young people, especially in the automotive industry. He said that the company is a fine example and a benchmark in this regard for the sector, and supports the training of more than 100 students every year. He also highlighted the importance of fostering talent in the sector and the key role to be played by companies in offering a first, quality step into the labour market for young people under those Dual Training and Workplace Training agreements. The fact that these efforts create a great pool of new professionals for our sector was another important point he made.

The HR Recruitment Manager at Moventia went on to reveal the company’s training project for new bus drivers, one that seeks to encourage this profession in the transport sector and offer opportunities to people looking to explore this career but encountering economic barriers in terms of how costly it is to obtain the necessary skills.

Moventia has implemented various strategies to attract new talent, ranging from a presence on social media and attendance at trade fairs in the sector to partnership events with education centres. Nacho Cabeza went on to underline the efforts being made in the field of international recruitment, especially in South America, to offset the shortage of local professionals. “We make every effort to promote the training of local talent and continue to focus on the local labour market but we are aware this is not enough. To tackle our growth challenges, we need to assess other complementary alternatives and the international labour market offers us profiles with the experience we need to meet the demands of modern mobility”, he said.

Moventia has also promoted a project designed to identify talent in the automotive division and offer a Personal Development Plan to selected employees, supporting their professional growth and adapting to the specific needs of each person involved. In this regard, Nacho explained how such initiatives strengthen talent loyalty and framed the plan as part of the Moventia 360º project, which is aimed at improving the management of teams and defining a leadership style for the whole organisation.
