Moventis, the business unit of Moventia specialising in collective mobility, will attend Global Mobility Call 2024 for the first time. This is the largest international event on sustainable mobility organised by IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub. The company, which provides services that range from discretionary transport to the management of regular bus lines, trams and shared bicycle systems, continues to consolidate its position as a sector leader both in Spain and overseas.
The brand will give a talk entitled “Multimodality as a driving force in regional transformation”, in which it will share its experience in the transformation of regions through its internationalisation strategy. The company has become the largest international operator in Saudi Arabia thanks to the urban service it has been operating in Mecca since 2022 and the new intercity service that connects the north-west region of the country.
Furthermore, Moventis will explain its multimodal model based on the development of integrated mobility solutions that include the management of bus fleets, coaches, trams and urban bicycles, as well as route planning, pricing plans, ticketing systems and the implementation of advanced technologies, among other things.
With over 6,533 employees and a fleet consisting of 2,586 buses, 41 trams and 40,000 bicycles, Moventis carries 252 million passengers a year. Having launched its internationalisation process in 2016 by implementing a public bicycle system in Helsinki, the company currently operates in seven countries: Spain, France, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Finland and Peru. This expansion reflects the key role played by Moventis in the development of sustainable and efficient transport solutions that adapt to the needs of each region.
Josep Maria Martí, CEO of Moventis, said they are excited to be taking part in Global Mobility Call for the first time. “This event is an unbeatable platform for sharing knowledge, exploring new opportunities and building synergies that can drive forward the future of mobility. We believe that Moventis can bring its experience to the management of collective transport services internationally and offer its commitment to innovation and sustainability, values that we consider essential for tackling the challenges faced by our sector in the years ahead”, he said.
Attendance by the company to Global Mobility Call, being held from 19 to 21 November at IFEMA MADRID, underlines its commitment to innovation and sustainable development in the field of public and private mobility.
