New public bike sharing service for CityBike Global

Barcelona, February 9th, 2022, CityBike Global and the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area have signed the contract for the new Mevo public bike-sharing service.  The service will have 4,200 bicycles, of which 3.100 ebikes, distributed in the 16 municipalities of the Metropolis before June 2023.

CityBike Global, a leading micro mobility company in Europe and Latin America, is the successful bidder for the public bike sharing service in the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area, after signing the contract to implement this new service in the Metropolis. Consequently, the company reinforces its presence at European level and consolidates its international leadership in the bike sharing service that it already offers in cities such as Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Clermont Ferrand, Lima and, starting in April this year, the city of Stockholm.

In the words of Michal Glaser, president of the Metropolitan Area of Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot, the signing of the contract with a new operator leaves behind the first stage of Mevo and the two years of hard struggle with the procedures of the Polish public procurement law. He added that the same type of bicycle will be introduced soon in Stockholm, and that these bikes are already being used in major European cities. He concluded that this would allow good cooperation and that the inhabitants of the Metropolis will be able to enjoy these bicycles in 2023.

For his part, Jordi Cabañas Faura, Managing Director of CityBike Global, expressed how interesting is this project as the metropolis of Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot is the fourth largest in Poland, friendly to sustainable transport, people, and entrepreneurs. He also mentioned the pride that as a global company represents the fact of being able to offer these services, not only because it is a new city, but especially because it is the first project in Poland in the context of development plans in the Polish market (CBG is currently participating in the tender for the bike sharing service in the Metropolis of Upper Silesia-Zalebie), committing to do everything possible to meet its requirements. He thanked all the local authorities and, specially, the entire Mevo team in the Metropolitan Area.

CityBike Global will have until June 2023 to complete the launch of the entire system in the 16 municipalities. Kolbudy and Kosakowo also joined the 14 local governments that originally participated in the project (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Żukowo, Reda, Pruszcz Gdański, Tczew, Sierakowice, Rumia, Somonino, Stężyca, Kartuzy, Puck and Władysławowo). Hence the increase in the number of bicycle collection and return stations, from 660 to 717.

Various actions by Movento in December

On 2 December, AutoPlaVic received its first New Range Rover at the Gurb dealership and held an exclusive event to celebrate with our customers. The new Range Rover offers outstandingly sophisticated design, refinement and powerful capabilities.

That same week, Après Sky was held on the ski slopes of Masella, an event organised by Stern Motor.

Those attending the event enjoyed a spectacular day of snow that concluded with Carles Perez and El Gran German from Radio FlaixBac entertaining guests at the Masella Möod Lounge.

Furthermore, Sarsa Audi had the pleasure of organising a convoy for some of its customers with 10 models from the brand’s RS range. This event took place during the week of 13-17 December for seven days of adrenaline and speed.

The convoy’s journey comprised a loop around El Vallès, including road, dual carriageway and motorway sections so drivers could try out all the various driving modes. Two stops were included along the way so drivers could switch cars and thereby test several different models from the brand. One of these stops included a visit to the Cava Rovellats winery with a breakfast in the heart of nature. Finally, upon returning to the dealership, various gifts were handed out by Sarsa to all those who took part.

Turning our attention to Auser, an event was held on 14 December at the dealership in Terrassa to which several customers were invited in order to hear their opinions about Auser and the services we offer, as well as about the Renault and Dacia brands themselves.

Our analysis and conclusions from this event will help us improve the customer experience at our dealerships.

Finally, the classic San Silvestre de Badalona – Grand Prix Hyundai Motorprim took place on Friday 31 December. More than 1,250 runners took part in this last race of the year across the categories of 5 and 10 kilometres. Besides a great festive day of sport, both participants and spectators could also enjoy the new electric Hyundai KONA and the new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on show at the Runner Fair. These vehicles also provided support during the race itself.

Moventia at the Palace of Catalan Music

Since 2018, Moventia has been working with the Orfeó Català – Palace of Catalan Music Foundation. This foundation’s mission is to promote music with a particular focus on choral singing and knowledge and communication of cultural heritage. Under this partnership, Moventia sponsored a concert performance of Missa Scala Aretina by Francesc Valls with “La Grande Chapelle” on 21 December. The Montserrat cathedral choir was due to take part in this concert. However, a last-minute case of COVID in one of the children meant they were unable to attend.

Taxi Amic recognised for its work on transport services for PRM

Taxi Amic, the adapted taxi company belonging to Moventis that has partnered with TCC Transports Ciutat Comtal, has received the “award for commitment to transport services for persons with reduced mobility” at the I Catalonia Awards organised by the La Razón newspaper last December.

These awards, which recognise the work of companies and business leaders who have successfully responded to the needs of society within such a difficult scenario as the one we have today, highlight the more than 25-year track record of Taxi Amic in providing transport services to all those people who cannot use standard vehicles in the Barcelona area with an adapted mobility system that was the first of its kind in Europe.

This company offers its transport services to persons with reduced mobility via a fleet of fully adapted taxis and a one-to-one process given that the specific nature of this service requires a highly personalised response for its users. Taxi Amic drivers are not only engaged in transporting people from one place to another but also perform other roles, such as assistance and support for accessing and alighting from the vehicle, accompaniment to and from the pavement, wheelchair anchoring and safety belt use.

Furthermore, Taxi Amic not only provides its adapted transport services in the Barcelona area but also offers transfers to Barcelona Airport and the Port of Barcelona, as well as motorway journeys outside of Barcelona, exclusively to persons with reduced mobility.

As Jordi Galbán, Manager of Taxi Amic, explains “we are very happy to receive this recognition of our commitment to mobility for people who, because of a disability, are unable to use conventional public transport services. We at Taxi Amic work hard every day to offer them the best travel experience and, in short, do our bit to help build a better society”.

Moventia takes part in 2nd edition of Sant Joan de Déu Inseparables Gala

For the second consecutive year, Moventia had the pleasure of supporting the 2nd edition of the Sant Joan de Déu Inseparables Gala in Barcelona. This charity event seeks to make progress in the approach to researching serious diseases that affect children.

The evening consisted of a virtual dinner, with each attendee sat at home but connected via smartphones and computers. Everyone who registered for the event took part by making donations to their chosen line of research during the course of a gala that was full of entertainment, fun, prizes and lots of emotion.

More than 2,200 people living in over 25 Spanish provinces and 11 different countries came together for this evening of music, science and many surprises. Guests had the chance to hear about new medical projects at various departments, listen to the testimony of several families of patients who shared their experience first-hand and to re-live moments and experiences from the past, including a video made with oncology patients nine years ago that got everyone very emotional indeed.

A total of € 650,000 was raised by the event for the lines of research chosen by each guest attending the event. A night full of emotions that once again made it possible to raise funds to support the work being done to treat diseases in children at Sant Joan de Déu

Moventis Sarfa is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021, having become an important symbol of public transport throughout Catalonia and especially in Gerona. This milestone did not pass unnoticed by some of the major organisations and authorities in Gerona, such as the Palamós Chamber of Commerce and Begur Local Council.

At the 14th Begur Economic Affairs Debate, promoted by the two entities and recently held at the Aiguablava Parador Hotel, Miquel Martí, Chairman of Moventia, received an award from the President of the Palamós Chamber of Commerce, Pol Fages, and the Mayor of Begur, Maite Selva, in recognition of the century-long track record behind Moventis Sarfa.

The Chairman of Moventia, Miquel Martí, said “we are very happy to have a century-old company like Moventis Sarfa in our group, one with a successful history that inspires us all to keep working so hard to offer the very best public mobility experience”. He went on to add that “this award recognises all those people who have made it possible for Moventis Sarfa to become the great company it is today. Moventia and TRAM renew their commitment to Sant Joan de Déu

Moventia and TRAM have renewed their support for the project aimed at providing easier access to mobility for the homeless people being helped by Sant Joan de Déu Servicios Sociales – Barcelona. This partnership, which is one of the projects being organised by the two businesses as socially responsible companies, represents a contribution of 60,000 euros per year towards providing easier access to public transport for the people supported by various social service programmes run by the organisation.

The project seeks to offer free access to public transport in the city of Barcelona and surrounding areas for the homeless people being looked after by the various direct support programmes run by Sant Joan de Déu Servicios Sociales – Barcelona so they can attend their training, employment or job search activities, medical appointments, regain their network of social and family relationships, engage in socialisation support activities (including leisure and cultural activities) and any other type of procedure or activity coordinated with the social workers of Sant Joan de Déu to help them take back control of their life.

Mobility is one of the key aspects that are essential in combating social exclusion. The programme launched by Sant Joan de Déu with support from Moventia and TRAM helps to reduce this inequality – a problem encountered by many people – by facilitating travel on public transport. Moventia has adopted a clear commitment to people in this regard and beyond its employees, users and customers. In line with UN SDG 17 ‘Partnerships for the Goals’, Moventia and TRAM develop in-house programmes and, as is the case on this occasion, partner with non-profit entities and foundations to promote a better society and contribute towards improving quality of life for the most vulnerable.

The funding received has already impacted the lives of more than 2,200 people over the five years of this partnership, all of them men and women aged between 18 and 65 supported by Sant Joan de Déu Servicios Sociales – Barcelona on the programmes it runs in the city. In addition, and in response to the COVID-19 situation, part of the contribution in 2021 was used on a line of financial aid to make rent payments on behalf of vulnerable households in order to prevent them from potentially losing their homes.

Public transport, a tool for inclusion

The partnership renewal event was attended by the Corporate Deputy Chairwoman for Internal and Institutional Communication of Moventia, Sílvia Martí; the General Manager of TRAM, Humberto López Vilalta; the Director of Sant Joan de Déu Servicios Sociales – Barcelona, Salvador Maneu; and the Director of Obra Social Sant Joan de Déu, Oriol Bota.

During the conversation, public transport was highlighted as an essential tool that enables people to engage in daily life, such as studying, working or maintaining a social network, and is especially important for those homeless people needing to access various public resources throughout the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan area. Furthermore, access to transportation allows them to enjoy additional activities that directly impact their recovery because they strengthen social and community ties.

The meeting was also an opportunity for these representatives from the two companies to visit the new dentistry clinic for people with no financial resources that is jointly managed by SJD Servicios Sociales Barcelona and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, and funded by Barcelona City Council and internal funding from Sant Joan de Déu.

Moventia receives ‘Integralia’ Distinction for social inclusion

The inclusion of 22 persons with disabilities at the Customer Services Centre of the T-Mobilitat project is the initiative by Moventia that was recognised by the Integralia DKV Foundation as one of the most ambitious in the field of labour market inclusion in which the social entity has taken part.

Moventia, a benchmark company in the field of sustainable mobility, received the ‘Integralia’ Distinction from the Integralia DKV Foundation for its work on labour market inclusion for persons with disabilities as part of the 21st anniversary celebrations at the foundation.

Presented to Jordi Castells, Operations Manager at Moventis, by Josep Santacreu, Chairman of the Integralia DKV Foundation, at a recent event in Madrid, the award represents genuine backing for Moventia in its commitment to promoting equal opportunities in the labour market for the most vulnerable groups in society, such as persons with disabilities.

In this regard, the distinction presented by the Integralia DKV Foundation recognises the incorporation by Moventia of 22 persons with disabilities in the labour market at the Customer Services Centre of the T-Mobilitat project. Together, they account for over 85% of the professionals who make up this call centre led by Moventia, undoubtedly the most ambitious project in which the Integralia DKV Foundation has taken part.

When Jordi Castells, Operations Manager at Moventis, collected the Integralia Award, Josep Santacreu, Chairman of the Integralia DKV Foundation, said “it has been a great opportunity for us to work shoulder-to-shoulder with such an important company in the mobility sector as Moventia, and to help realise its project to include persons with disabilities in the professional customer services team at T-Mobilitat, which it promotes as a member of the SocMobilitat consortium”.

To this statement, Jordi Castells, Operations Manager at Moventis, added: “Moventia has a very clear commitment to promoting equality in every sense of the word and we work hard every day to encourage inclusion in the labour market, among other places, for the most vulnerable groups in society, such as persons with some form or another of disability.  We quickly accepted the invitation from Integralia DKV Foundation when it offered its experience, as it is unquestionably the perfect partner for building a professional team that will lead the customer services department of T-Mobilitat”.

The cutting edge of progress in social-labour inclusion

The project that received this Integralia Distinction represents another step forward in the development of labour market inclusion and social projects launched by Moventia. As part of its commitment to equal opportunities and labour market inclusion for building a better society, the company currently employs 86 persons with one form or another of disability, over 2% of its entire workforce. Furthermore, all the vehicles used by the company for public transport services are adapted for persons with reduced mobility.

This recognition underpins the commitment from Moventia to promoting equal opportunities in the labour market for the most vulnerable groups in society
