Movento Stern, the official Mercedes-Benz dealership of the Movento group, revealed its latest charity event schedule at the grand ‘Nit solidària Movento Stern’ gala aimed at raising funds that are exclusively donated to the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona, the centre at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital specialising in cancer treatments for children.
This initiative, which is also promoted by Moventia, has consolidated its position as a core pillar in the benchmark group’s social commitment to mobility, a group that reaffirms its support for the hospital and the work it does with children and their families year after year.
Held at the mother and child hospital in Barcelona, the reveal event was attended by the singer and sponsor of the initiative, Antonio Orozco; the Manager of Movento Stern, Quim Badia; the Head of Marketing at Moventia, Sandra Llunell; the Healthcare Director of the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona, Dr. Andrés Morales; Mariana Romero, fundraiser and Head of Marketing and Communication at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona; and journalist Cristina Cubero.
A charity event schedule with four major initiatives
This year’s schedule will continue on 4 December with an exclusive concert by Antonio Orozco, which will take place at 21:30 at Sala Luz de Gas in Barcelona. Later in the month, on 17 December, the now well-established ‘Nit solidària’ event will take place at the Movento Stern dealership in Sabadell. This charity gala will once again be supported by numerous companies and attended by local celebrities from the worlds of sport, haute cuisine, television and music.
The charity calendar will continue on 20 December, from 17:00 to 19:00, with the ‘La tarda de Llum’ musical show in the auditorium at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. Hosted by Llucià Ferrer, the event will gather various artists from the world of music. Besides Antonio Orozco himself, the show will also feature Beth Rodergas, Aina Da Silva, Miki Núñez, Lildami, Lax’n’Busto and Sexenni, who join the initiative to raise awareness about this great cause and to support the fight against childhood cancer.
It should be remembered that this year’s charity schedule already began on 15 November with a charity padel tournament at Club Aurial Pádel Cornellà, which enjoyed special support from the Enric Masip Foundation. Overflowing with the spirit of sport and solidarity, this first event represented the start of a charity calendar that aims to involve more people, more partners and, above all, more support for the hospital in Barcelona.
“I’m always thinking about what else I can do”
During the event, Antonio Orozco reiterated his commitment to the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona and the close ties he has maintained with the centre for years. The artist said that “this is the most important project of my life, I knew that from the first year I got involved”. He went on to add that “I’m always thinking about what else I can do, I feel that everything we do is simply not enough”.
Antonio Orozco also announced that he wants to continue strengthening those ties in future years, bringing more music-related charity initiatives to support the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona.
In turn, the Manager of Movento Stern, Quim Badia, highlighted the ongoing commitment from the company and the entire team to this charity project, saying that “all this work we do has great meaning and we will always try to be here, helping”. He went on to say that “we are able to offer this support due to the backing of the company behind us, and I’m convinced we will continue doing so for many years”.
In turn, Dr. Andrés Morales, Healthcare Director at the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona, highlighted the value of this support for the centre and its essential nature in enabling progress on both research and comprehensive care for patients and their relatives. “The impact that both Antonio and Movento Stern have here touches everything, and we are enormously grateful to them”, he said.
A pioneering unit in Spain
Dr. Morales highlighted the Integrative Paediatric Oncology Unit this year, a pioneering initiative at the centre that combines safe non-pharmacological therapies such as acupuncture, nutrition, aromatherapy, oncological massage, hospital dogs and even music to improve patient wellbeing.
It is a unique project in Spain and one of only a few such units in Europe aimed at easing the symptoms and side effects of cancer treatments and at improving quality of life for the children and their families.
Under the slogan of ‘Ajudem a fer camí’, this joint cause continues to grow and gain momentum for the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona thanks to the ongoing support of companies, ambassadors and the entire community.
