Moventia has reaffirmed its commitment to equality in the workplace by sending Susanna Vidal, Head of Development and Equality at Moventia, to attend a session entitled ‘Leading the change: Best practices for a more inclusive company’ organised by Foment del Treball and its Training department.
The event gathered such important individuals in the field of corporate diversity as Marisa Galán, Assistant Managing Director of Fiatc Mutua de Seguros; Rosa Mª Garcia, Head of HR & HS at Gonvarri Barcelona; and Víctor Obach, Chairman of the Equality Committee CDM at Hospital Clínic.
The session was moderated by Anna Achón (Desea-Fíate) and talks were given by Beatriz Fernández-Tubau Rodes, Chair of the Equality Committee of Foment, and Patricia Montserrat, director of the first female leadership programme in Catalonia, Proyecto Progresa.
During the round table discussion and on behalf of Moventia, our expert stressed that the shift towards more inclusive companies must begin with individual beliefs and committed leadership capable of implementing policies that bring real change. In this regard, the company has implemented positive discrimination measures to increase the presence of women among our driver staff, a key step in a traditionally male sector. The challenge continues into such areas as Traffic and Garage, where the lack of specialised female profiles continues to restrict the hiring of professional women.
Moventia is therefore working to foster equality by combining constant training with more direct initiatives when the situation requires in order to consolidate more respectful and equal working environments.
Furthermore, in a sector where the presence of women in positions of leadership remains low, Susanna Vidal underlined the importance of training, experience and professional visibility in enabling women to enter decision-making roles, alongside the need for men to adopt a more open-minded perspective and to value the alternative contributions to be made from a female outlook.
Moventia believes it is essential to proactively take part in forums for dialogue and insight capable of encouraging change in the sector, strengthening a commitment to more diverse and inclusive mobility. These efforts underpin female leadership as a key factor in building a fairer, more equal and more sustainable future.
