On 30 May, the 2025 Catalan Mobility Conference filled the Kursaal Theatre in Manresa with the boundless commitment and drive from this sector. The event was attended by a significant number of professionals to debate present and future challenges in the passenger transport sector.

At the conference, Miquel Martí Escursell, honorary president of Moventia, was given the MobiliCat 2024 Award of Honour at a ceremony that took place during the event in recognition of his long career in the field of sustainable mobility.

Organised by the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) under the slogan of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to mobility, the conference offered a comprehensive agenda of talks and round table discussions, as well as an opportunity to present the MobiliCat 2024 Awards from the sectoral magazine published by the association.

With strong attendance by institutional representatives and experts from the sector, the conference this year mainly focused on the impact of artificial intelligence applied to mobility by exploring how this technology can help offer safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly mobility.

Following the conference and the award ceremony, Miquel Martí spoke a few words of gratitude upon receiving the award. “It is a privilege to receive this award at such a key time for the sector”, he said. “We face such major challenges as decarbonisation, the use of artificial intelligence and increasing bus services to meet the needs of the public. I accept this award with gratitude on behalf of all those people who have accompanied and taught me along the way.”

It was an undeniable privilege for the company to once again form part of the quintessential event for mobility and public transport in Catalonia. Attending events that foster dialogue and the analysis of mobility issues enables new challenges to be tackled through innovative transformation.
