Movento, the automotive division belonging to Moventia, has officially opened its first MG Movento Garage dealership in Barcelona; a space that strengthens the group’s foothold in the Catalan capital and brings its portfolio of services even closer to residents and businesses in the area.
Located at Paseo Maragall, 365-369 in Barcelona, the new dealership combines a 450 m² vehicle showroom, an after-sales and used car sales area, and a workshop of more than 2,000 m² manned by a team of four professionals. The goal is clear: to offer a welcoming, flexible and reliable service to customers in the Horta-Guinardó district and Barcelona as a whole. Furthermore, given that MG has seven electric models, the space is also equipped with several electric vehicle recharging points catering to this flagship segment for the brand.
The official opening ceremony, which took place on Wednesday at the new MG Movento Garage premises, was attended by Miquel Martí Pierre, CEO of Movento; Miguel Molina, Commercial Director of MG Spain; and Mireia Prades, General Manager of MG Movento Garage, who revealed the details of this project, the scope of the expansion and the overall strategic vision. The event was also attended by over 100 people, including customers, suppliers and other guests, who enjoyed a round table discussion between the three speakers and a networking reception. Invited guests were given a tour of the new premises, which include custom service areas, indoor and outdoor vehicle display spaces, and a workshop equipped to offer an efficient response in terms of maintenance and repair services.
In his speech, Miquel Martí Pierre, CEO of Movento, expressed his satisfaction with the new opening of MG in Catalonia, recalling that “Movento began working with MG when the brand arrived in Spain four years ago”. “We were very keen to start opening premises around Catalonia since the five centres operating in Madrid have been hugely successful”, he said. In this regard, Miquel Martí Pierre announced that Movento plans to open two new MG Movento Garage premises in Catalonia very soon “in order to continue growing alongside MG for many years to come”. “MG offers good vehicles at affordable prices, and we offer a comprehensive service for our customers”, he concluded.
In turn, Miguel Molina, Commercial Director of MG Spain, welcomed the new MG premises in Barcelona and stressed that “our goal is clear; we want to maintain our position as market leaders, as we have since 2021, and we need to work with leading companies to achieve that, such as Movento”. In this regard, he also announced that they will reveal “up to 12 new models” between now and 2027 “in order to continue offering quality vehicles at affordable prices”. Furthermore, he recalled that MG has made a strong commitment to the Spanish market by opening “the first factory owned by the brand in Spain”, in Galicia to be precise, which will begin operating in 2028.

At this new centre, customers in Barcelona can now access the full range of MG vehicles; a brand with over 100 years of history that continues to maintain its classic British soul and spirit while adopting all the latest technologies. MG is also a market leader, with more than 135,000 vehicles on the roads throughout Spain, and a brand that offers outstanding value for money.
This is why Movento had decided to bring the entire range of MG vehicles to these new premises, such as the plug-in hybrid version of the MG S9 PHEV, the HS, the ZS, the MG3, and both the hybrid and petrol versions of the MG4 Urban. The plug-in hybrid version of the HS will also be available. Finally, the MG S5 EV and MG S6 EV models will also be distributed here, which are fully electric. With this new dealership, Movento is adding an innovative brand to its network in Barcelona with an outstanding commitment to electric and highly competitive vehicles, thereby strengthening its offer to the market in the Catalan capital. The available range is focused on facilitating access to efficient business vehicles with good value for money accompanied by comprehensive financing, insurance and after-sales services.
The MG Movento Garage network now has two premises in Catalonia, the first being the one that opened in Vic this spring, and is expected to open two more over the coming months. The brand also has five MG dealerships in Madrid, where the company has been doing business since 2024 thanks to a partnership with Gil Group. This rollout consolidates the joint project in key territories and strengthens the brand’s position in the national market.
