The Deputy Mayor for Transformative City, Cristina Santón; the Head of the Forma e Inserta Programme of the SOC, Conxi Sola; the Head of Human Resources at Moventia, Marga Pedreira; and the Director of Aptibus, Carles Mas, attended the event held this afternoon at Gornal Activa to reveal the partnership agreement to provide a Comprehensive Qualification Course for new bus drivers (D + CAP) that will train 15 people as coach and bus drivers.

Subsidised under the Train and Employ Programme of the Public Occupation Service of Catalonia (SOC), this initiative offers unemployed people a chance to switch careers via free training. The registration fees and official exams, licence issuing fees and medical certificate are excluded from the subsidy.

The Municipal Training and Employment Guidance Centre (CEMFO) will host the training course for obtaining the Certificate of Professional Aptitude-Passengers and the D driver’s licence. With these two qualifications, those completing the course will gain access to recruitment processes at Moventis for a job at one of its companies.

Moventis guarantees a job for at least 40% of those who complete the training in order to fill existing professional driver vacancies. Aptibus will provide the training. Registration must take place before 8 June via this link. The training will take place from 30 June to 1 August and from 1 September to 3 October. Driving practice will take place in October and November.

This initiative forms part of the municipal goal to foster projects that offer new opportunities to its citizens and to boost occupational training as a way to raise employability.

To receive this training, you must be over 24 years of age, have a secondary school (ESO) certificate and a B driver’s licence with all its points, be registered with the SOC as an unemployed job-seeker or a career upgrade-seeker, and pass a selection process based on a series of psychometric tests.
